Our Single-hop Pale Ale series returns this month with an exciting iteration! Last month, Kem, from Egger’s Hop Farm in Moutere stopped into the brewery and offered us some samples of the fantastic Riwaka that they grow. Egger’s is one of the best independent hop farms in the world, and specializes in growing the fantastic Riwaka variety. Kem was kind enough to offer us access to a special lot of Riwaka, blended with a single lot of their proprietary breed, known as Egger’s Special. This unique pellet is being called “X” by the folks at Egger’s, and exhibits a lovely blend of modern, fruit-forward New Zealand hop character, with an underlying bouquet of Old World, spicy noble hop character.
