Goodfire started in 2017 as Dr. David Redding’s home brewing project. Soon the hobby turned into a monster of an obsession, and Goodfire Brewing Co. officially launched on November 9, 2017 with head brewer Gordon Jones.
Throughout the years, we’ve kept our concentration on developing consistent, high-quality beer. Our expert brewers (still led by Gordon) focus on soft, unfiltered New England IPAs while also dabbling in German-style lagers.
NEXT UP? FREEPORT
We opened our second location, Goodfire Tasting Room & Kitchen in Freeport, in 2022 with head chef Ben Christie and General Manager Kevin Nelson.
Expanding the strong foundation we developed in Portland, we are thrilled to now showcase a full food menu to complement our tasty brews. Freeport offers a 3,000 sq. foot indoor dining room with counter service and optional QR code ordering , 24 taps that house or our beer, house-made cocktails, N/A options, and wine! It has a private event space that serves up to 20 guests, a dog-friendly outdoor patio for the warmer months, and a kids’ menu.
Our community—including our team, our customers, and our vendors—mean the world to us. As we expand into our new location in Freeport, we strive to grow intentionally and with a relentless focus on quality control while continuing to cultivate our small but mighty Goodfire family.
